The Hungarian agriculture had been in difficult situations many times before, but now we can say that the whole world struggles with economic downturn. In this kind of situations – but especially now – it's necessiary for the actors of the agro-business to join together and help each other.

 

The Hungarian agriculture had demonstrated many times, and we know, the country has its abilities to show, in this hard times, that it is capable to keep up with the technical and technological challenges of today and it can be rightly proud of the quality of its products. The Bábolna International Farmer's Days, celebrating its 25th jubilee, is a good opportunity to show this.

They say that ageing is no achievement. But I think that in the life of a professional exhibition, the jubilee number "25" is indeed an achievement, because it proves that it was capable of providing a worthwhile professional forum for the representatives of this profession for such a long time - changing and freshening itself, while still maintaining its values.

The Bábolna International Farmers' Days is just such an exceptional event. There, professionals working in agriculture - buyers, suppliers, researchers, developers, farmers, financers - can find their old business partners each year while also seeing that year's novelties. They can meet with old co-workers, friends and clients and find new relationships each year.
The quater of a century event accomodates well the profile of Bábolna, the military stud farm, established in 1789. The 220 years old, once world renowned farm's traditions are kept today by the Bábolna Nemzeti Ménesbirtok Kft, which, year to year is the host of the most prestigous Hungarian agricultural event.

The host of the exhibition is Bábolna Nemzeti Ménesbirtok Kft., partner coordinator is IKR Zrt. and the organizer is Congress Kft. The goal of the organizers to make the jubilee exhibition special and more memorable than ever. Based on last years experiences, we would like to keep the popular professional programs, so we will have the field machine demos, professional conferences and the spectecular „Horses and Horspower" show will be presented again. We would like to give a whole picture about the history of the stud farm and the exhibition, and to reproduce the feeling of the exhibition 25 years ago with old, archive movies. The programs – always updated – can be seen on the www.babolnaigazdanapok.hu website.

We live in a time of great changes, when the pillars of our familiar world shatters and we can't grab hold onto our usual templates. The changes can bring hardship, but they can bring positive changes – it does matter how we answer this challenges. The organizers and the participants of the Bábolna International Farmers' Days want to give a proper answer, that the countryside is alive - and it wants to live!
The Bábolna Farmers' Days, which creates great professional interest, sends a message every year to the domestic and international public opinion: on the excellent Hungarian soil, the very experienced agricultural professionals and farmers always handle difficulties with faith, optimism and hard work, and give our country pride and prestige.

I am sure, that the 25th event will be worthy for the jubilee!
