CONSTRUMA won a battle against the recession Print E-mail
10 % more professional visitors attended the CONSTRUMA and HUNGAROTHERM exhibitions than last year at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Trade Center. The exhibitions that occupied the whole area of the Trade Center had been visited by 60 thousand people.

ImageBeside their trade improvement purpose – the two exhibitions also improved the view on construction services and construction service providers with the help of novelties, presentations of reliable, quality products and the awards and recognitions related to the exhibitions. The star products of the exhibitions, that ended with a family weekend, were the kit homes, modern doors and windows, green energy equipment, sanitary products and construction machines.

Hatful of professional programs at CONSTRUMA and HUNGAROTHERM
From 24 countries 759 companies were present at CONSTRUMA and HUNGAROTHERM. The exhibitions and escort events happened all together on 27,550 m2. On eight different sites, more than 30 programs, conferences, international businessmen get-togethers, workshops, round-table discussions and professional competitions accompanied the exhibitions. Revolutionising energy consumption solutions and green energy technologies were in the focal point of the product presentations and professional programs.

All professional programs had been held in front of a full house. There was a great turnout on Building Services Engineer's Day, Roof Tilers' Day and Passive House Day events. The place at the Construction Economy and Quality Policy Forum was completely full, where the featured themes were recession handling strategies and sales improvement. Turnout was also quite good at the WorldSkills Professional Competition.

Many visited the stand of the National Association of Interior Designers and the National Association of Hungarian Garden Builder and Maintenance Businesses, where they were able to get free advices.

The prestige and recognition of the professional events was well illustrated by the fact that a number of government decision-makers, as well as recognised Hungarian and foreign experts were pleased to be invited as speakers. The main organisers, professional supporters of the programs were the sponsors and main sponsors of the exhibitions. Most programmes were run by MÉÁSZ for engineers, architects, designers, and all kinds of exerts and specialists involved in construction. It is important to note here that the two chambers give 1 credit point to its members not only for partaking in the professional programmes but also for visiting the exhibition.

On Building Services Engineer's Day a conference had been organised by MÉGSZ and MÉGÁSZ around the latest developments in building services engineering, energy supply, renewable energy, the strategic opportunities of building services engineering and related international experiences.
The Roof Tilers' Day on 3rd April was offering a wide range of diverse programs concerning high-pitched and deck-roof building, as well as the opportunities and advantages of green roof construction. The Roof of the Year Quality Award is traditionally presented on this day. Host of the day: ÉMSZ.
CONSTRUMA Academy returned with topics such as quality certification of building materials, work safety, solar energy use, and kit homes.
In addition to this, the presentations also offered numerous interesting topics that were likely to draw great attention from the profession including possibilities of renewing system-built blocks, interior design trends, new building materials, light transmitting concrete, and cast stone.
CONSTRUMA was home to the qualifiers of WorldSkills Professional Competition for the first time this year. Held on 3-4 April in Pavilion 16, the competition welcomed nominations from experienced expert bricklayers, carpenters, tilers, and building joiners.

Family weekend at CONSTRUMA
The Home Designer's National Association had been preparing with a grandiose show for the event. The Island of Tips and Ideas welcomed visitors with a quality presentation on the latest trends and free home design advice.
The exhibition offered something for members of the youngest generations as well. The Juventus Playhouse in the new reception area in the Eastern Forum by Gate III had a free baby playground for toddlers and various creative games and toys for older kids.

One lucky visitor had the chance to win a new roof for their family home as courtesy of Bramac. The roof tiles to be won can cover a 150 m2 home. All visitors had to do was place their completed tickets in the box in Pavilion C. The rest was left to Dame Fortune on the draw held on 6th April.
